Robert Whiting has lived most of his life in the Adirondack region of New York State.
Pursuing his artistic interest, he attended SUNY Farmingdale in New York, majoring in Advertising Art and Design. He worked toward his Bachelor’s Degree through Empire State College with his concentration on the Hudson River School of Painters and taught Commercial Art for New York Department of Corrections.
Susan Bayard Whiting began painting in 1975 with Robert as her guide.
While Susan has no formal art training her many years of independant art study and practice has given her a solid understanding of her craft. Many of her works have been exhibited locally and are now included in private colletions throughout the Northeast.
She is a member of numerous local art organizations and was a founding member of The Artist's Studio in Queensbury NY.
Husband and wife artists, Robert and Susan Whiting have been painting for most of their 36 years together. Sharing oil paints, brushes and an occasional subject matter, they have not lost their enthusiasm for fine art.
While each of their styles is quite different, their work complements the others.
Their studio is quite harmonious, despite the numerous tables and shelves filled with current still life settings or the plethora of landscape photos and sketches with notes scribbled on them and hanging on the walls.
The is definately a couple who work well together and enjoy their work.
