Robert and I are going to try something new this summer. Instead of having our studio open to invited artists, we thought it might be nice to try to gather a group of artists/artisans interested in opening their studios for a one weekend event within 15 miles from Argyle.
We have a few artists who would like to give it a try. It doesn't matter if you don't have a formal studio, even a front porch, an unused tool shed or a deserted barn, or even set up like a garage sale in your front yard.
This would be a nice way for new artists or established artists to introduce themselves to a whole new section of the public and for the public to explore some of the most beautiful area of New York State.
Since we have established the third weekend in July as our event "A Barn Full of Art" and have a following for that event, we'd like to invite local artists to ride on our coat-tails and present your art to the public on July 13-15th.
We will be advertising our Summer Open Studio event for Friday, July 13th through Sunday July 15th from 9am to 6pm in the Post Star, Facebook ads and (if possible) we'd like to create some kind of map of participating artists that we can hand out at our open studio......
If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. We'll try to put together a list of free advertising possibilities that we can share with anyone interested in joining in on that July weekend.
Robert and Susan Whiting will open their timberframe studio by appointment
